Supreme Court agrees to hear Junius Scales case
The court will review government prosecution of Communist Party members under the Smith Act. Lightfoot and Scales were each convicted under the act. hearings deferred to next term. The term will also hear California leaders and Steve Nelson appeals, with a 7 2 ruling on immunity and grand juries in national security cases.
