New Road Debate Between Greensboro and High Point
Public prints report a meeting to discuss a rival to widening the existing highway between Guilford’s two cities. A state funded $225,000 draw could back a new hard surface link, with the county covering the remainder. Supporters favor extending a northern Greensboro route toward High Point to serve Deep River and relieve the present road. Proponents urge widening the current road with state funds, arguing it would yield a broader, better maintained corridor under central financing, avoiding county upkeep of two parallel routes.
