State Industries Seek North Carolina Graduates At State College
North Carolina industries are sending representatives to State college to hire technically trained graduates for postwar expansion. Dean J H Lampe says wage offers and early interviews aim to retain local talent as two thirds of Tar Heel graduates previously left NC for work. Major firms visiting include Southern Cotton Oil Henderson American Agricultural Chemical Raleigh Buckeye Cotton Oil Raleigh Carolina Power and Light Raleigh Champion Paper Canton Pulp and Paper Plymouth Marshall Field Spray and more. Out of state firms such as RCA Westinghouse Du Pont Procter and Gamble and GE have also sent personnel officials to the college.
