Burglary Apparently Occurred on Jacob Street
A burglar awakened residents at 811 B Jacob Street Sunday morning and fled. Four hours later police arrested 18 year old Little Dolan Ingram Jr of Trinity on Jacob Street for second degree burglary and jailed him in Lexington.

Oberlin senior wins Danforth Fellowship for PhD study
Mary Louise Poovey of High Point North Carolina, an English major at Oberlin College, has been awarded a Danforth Fellowship to pursue graduate study toward a PhD. The Danforth Foundation selects 97 Fellows from over 1500 seniors for up to four years of support for college teaching careers. Poovey plans graduate work in the 20th century British novel, studying authors such as Woolf Joyce Forster and Ford Madox Ford, and has earned the Margaret Goodwin Prize and the 1969 Bordon Freshman Prize. She studied at the University of Exeter during junior year studying English literature history.

Bank Theft Suspect In Custody In Greensboro Area
A 19 year old High Point man was taken into custody Sunday in Winston Salem in connection with the February 3 robbery at the East Gate Shopping Center branch of First Citizens Bank and Trust Co. FBI says the suspect will be questioned while investigators seek evidence on the $10714 stolen by two armed men.
