Sunday evening workshops by First Methodist Church MYF group prepare items for a church bazaar to raise funds for the new educational building. Boys crafted wood items such as shoe shine boxes phone memo pads cutting boards bird houses and hat bands. girls made stuffed animals mats napkins and aprons. Stanford Turner serves as group president.
Mrs. D. A. Rawley will entertain members of the Twentieth Century Study Club and their daughters and daughters in law with a tea at her home at 509 Mendenhall Road Jamestown on Wednesday at 4 p m Mrs N M Harrison will be associate hostess.

A new millinery class will begin Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the YWCA at 1108 N Main St with Mrs Ora Bryant as instructor. Alexis announces the engagement of Ruth Aileen Cloer of Alexis to Carl Edwin Anderson. The couple plan to wed April 24 at Alexis Baptist Church. Cloer, daughter of Mrs. Michael Cloer and the late Mr. Cloer, attends Stanley High School and works for J P Stevens in Stanley. Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. W W Anderson of High Point, served nine years in the Army and works for Calloids of Carolina in High Point.
