Society And Club News From Sanford Officers Return
Attending the Post officers inference in Sanford yesterday were representatives of the local American Legion auxiliary. They included Mrs. Ll. T. Mann, Mesdames L. W. Lythe Jack Burris Hugh Clark J H King Dave Wright and C A York auxiliary president. They returned to their homes last night. Mrs Luther L Barker of 503 Teeth Street is a patient at Guilford General Hospital after an operation yesterday. She is recovering and will be unable to see visitors for several days. Mrs Minnie Hinkle will join the Wayside Needle club at the home of her daughter Mrs L Conrad 300 Louise Avenue Wednesday at 3 80 o'clock.

Florence Nightingale Club St Patrick Day supper at Y Cottage
The Florence Nightingale club of the 7 W A BOE held a St Patrick's Day supper meeting at the Y Cottage last evening with about twenty five in attendance. Miss Rose File presided as president at a green and white table setting. Miss Margaret Curry and Miss Ernestine Voncannon performed Irish songs and Miss Iris Welch sang An Evening Prayer as a devotional. A business session announced the Tri City Conference for next Saturday at Wesley Memorial M B Church, with sixty out of town guests expected from Greensboro Winston Salem and Durham. The conference will be an all day event with songs and melodrama to be presented after the meeting.

Members reported on the State W M A conference in Durham and a Home Mission observance is set for the fourth Monday.

Convict Escapes From Broadmeadows Prison Farm
Glenn Atkin aged 24 from Gastonia North Carolina escaped from Broadmeadows prison farm early today. An Upper Darby magistrate had sentenced him a week earlier to 60 days for attempting to loot a telephone cola box.
