Rose, superintendent, said a 100‑man crew from Conversions and Surveys Inc. began March 3, with 100 locals later sent to Brooklyn for related work. The project costs about $45,000 and will lower future local rates due to natural gas efficiency and cleaner burning. Local cooperation has been a key factor in the rapid progress.
