New USGA Golf Rules Aim to Simplify Play
The United States Golf Association adopted a new code reducing rules from 61 to 21 to simplify play. Changes include out of bounds penalties by distance only two stroke penalties for attending flagstick inside 20 yards updated artificial obstruction lift rules and revised penalties for playing a wrong ball with disqualification in stroke play but no penalty in a hazard.
