High Point Indebtedness Compared With Asheville Figures

City of High Point faces scrutiny over a debt comparison with Asheville and Greensboro. The document shows Asheville total debt at 24 706 300 dollars and per capita 492, High Point at 11 642 000 dollars and 316 per person, Greensboro at 15 243 000 and 341 per capita. It argues High Point’s per capita debt is lower and would require 6.5 million more to match Asheville. It notes a sinking fund plan over ten years and caps on new debt at 50 percent of retired debt, plus lists current properties and investments totaling about 12 568 362 dollars and plans for retrenchment to reduce indebtedness.
