Site For Negro Housing Chosen In High Point
High Point Housing Authority announced a site decision for 40 elderly Negro units and 200 regular units. The eight acre plot adjoins a 45 acre area planned for 200 regular Negro units. Officials revised earlier site choices to favor single story designs and avoid the East Central Urban Renewal Area. The plan requires Planning and Zoning approval before City Council action.

High Point educators warn student influx will not offset losses from dropouts. A proposed Guilford County plan seeks 4.16 million dollars for a new junior high, a new senior high, and 21 elementary classrooms, but would still be 18 rooms short after five years if 2,672 more students enroll.
