High Point Mall to Open Five Stores in Eastchester Drive Center
Five stores announce plans to open in High Point Mall on Eastchester Drive. Mother and Daughter, Winn-Dixie, Gerry's Record Shop, Bernie's, and Revco will join the enclosed mall as officials set a 10 a.m. March 19 opening ceremony with some shops opening earlier. The Mother and Daughter operation, founded in 1938, will offer women's fashions, children’s wear, shoes, cosmetics and millinery, with Sandra Honeycutt as manager. Winn-Dixie expands to health and beauty aids, housewares and deli items under Ronald George. Bernie’s will stock model planes, games, crafts, art supplies, and train accessories as Tyco and Lionel service centers. Gerry’s Record Shop returns with over 7,000 oldies and various genres. Revco emphasizes prescription business with discounts for seniors and a Stork-Aid program. Other local updates note pilots and executives in Pilot Life, Lowe’s fiscal results, and Minnesota Mutual Life milestones.

Local Realtor Reports Upturn In Home Market
Harold Craven of Craven Johnson Pollock Inc says High Point area buyers and sellers face a favorable period through June 1975. Mortgage money is more available and rates are down, with pent up demand returning buyers while sellers list more properties. RELO survey suggests conditions may mirror late 1974 as government borrowing and rising costs could tighten money again later.
