Army ends gyroscope rotation plan in Europe

The Army abandons the full division rotation between U S home bases and Germany. The 3rd Infantry Division will replace the 10th in Germany in May as a new system of exchanging battle groups within divisions starts in December. Five divisions remain overseas under the new plan, with two armored divisions exempt from rotation.

Commission Urges Fight Against Smut

A Protestant group urged parents to forward advertisements for smut and pornography to their senators and congressmen. The Churchmen's Commission for Decent Publications says 50 million such circulars target teenagers yearly, with much sent from Los Angeles and a lenient federal court there.
