Harry Kotsianos, born in Philadelphia, left Greece with his mother in 1945 and landed in Galveston then moved to High Point North Street 604. He joined the local high school junior class, turned sixteen, and gained weight after adopting a bean-free diet. He recalls wartime Greece horrors and the danger faced by his village Karpenissi during occupation.

Acting on a petition signed by 45 residents the Allen Jay school board voted to hold an election for two posts now held by H. C. Coltrane and Le Roy Summey. Their terms expire soon said M. R. Ingram. Principal Tenner Rennison’s resignation will be delayed until the election. The petition was circulated by the son of a former board member and residents dissatisfied with current policy may run against the incumbents.

Amendment to City Charter Is Offered
A bill introduced Thursday in the house by Representative Walter Crissman seeks to amend High Point's charter. Strickland Furnishings Plant to Get RFC Loan and Expansion
