Council Deliberates Judge Selection On Municipal Court
High Point council will not act to change how a municipal court judge is chosen unless Governor Hodges requests relief from the duty. The High Point Bar Association voted to keep the governor as the selector, debating constitutionality of any change. They also recommended extending the judge’s term to two years and allowing the local court to handle small claims up to a set limit without juries.
