Bandit Robs Calhoun Street Bank In Charleston
A lone gunman entered the First National Bank of South Carolina on Calhoun Street Charleston and took 4486 after handing a note to teller Mrs Janie Williams. About ten to twelve customers were present but unaware of the robbery. Police seek the 25 to 26 year old suspect described as five eight to five ten, 150 pounds wearing a dark sport coat. The bandit fled unseen. A similar earlier robbery at the same bank occurred March 23 1959 with five men. they were later captured and jailed.
