County approves 62.5 percent funding for new employee
Davidson County commissioners allocate 1205 to a food stamp program salary with about 480 for a First Citizens Bank dispensing agreement. An extra worker would cost about 6000, offset by anticipated one cent sales tax. They delay action on a pre delinquency counseling service awaiting legality review as funds are privately raised. Also considered is expanding Boone's Cave State Park per a letter from Ron Vogler.

Lawmakers explain the slow pace as a mix of simultaneous bills in both houses, better drafting help from AG staff and computers, an election year, and measures shaped for political considerations back home.
