Worry Prompts Man To Build Shelter

Worry about wars and windstorms prompts Farl Reichert to build a 20 by 40 foot steel and concrete backyard shelter for his family of 17. He calls it a form of life insurance that keeps them alive, with preparations to be bomb blast and radiation resistant. The structure, costing up to 10000 dollars, features a 21 inch thick concrete roof, reinforced with steel beams and three quarter inch rebar, supported by beams and columns, and covered by four feet of earth.
