Alcohol and Tobacco Not Primary Causes of Angina Pectoris
A U S study compared 750 angina patients with 750 controls of similar age and social status. Nearly half of those with angina had never smoked, while 24.4 percent of angina patients had used tobacco. Alcohol abstinence was common in both groups, with only about 1 percent of angina patients drinking heavily. The analysis suggests tobacco and alcohol are not primary causes of angina pectoris.
