A California Assembly rules committee recommended passage of a pardon resolution for Thomas J. Mooney, shifting focus from his habeas corpus petition in the state supreme court. Mooney was convicted in the 1916 San Francisco parade bombing, and the committee vote was four to two.

A Hickory North Carolina delegation urged the air commerce bureau to approve a planned airport project with an expected 37000 works progress allotment. Mayor M. H. Yount city attorney Joseph L. Murphy and city engineer H. K. Cetzer met bureau officials then conferred with Rep. A. L. Bulwinkle and Senator Robert R. Reynolds about the proposal.
M. 8. Ssymczak, member of the board of governors of the federal reserve system, will address the Winston-Salem chapter of the American Institute of Banking at its annual banquet meeting Saturday night in Winston-Salem.
Dr R G Miller a mid aged dentist admitted he gave the chloroform that killed Cleo Sprouse and expressed a wish for a quick trial. Albemarle officials plan to ask a special grand jury session to review the case as Miller signed a confession after arriving at Henrico jail.
Police say four year old Joan Morgan died from injuries in a criminal attack, as New York authorities confront an unsolved death of a 15 month old boy within days. Howard Magnussen, 26, a candy maker, is charged in the Mor van girl case. Gordon remains unnamed in report.
The coroner's inquest into the death of Mrs. Jeannette B. Trader was postponed until autopsy reports are available. Police expect the autopsy to provide scientific information on the cause of death and the jury's next session may be perfunctory as reports will take at least a week to complete.

Boston March 4. A nitrates freighter Linaria’s crew ended a ship strike today after signing off under protest and accepting pay. The men forfeited five shillings a day and a week’s demobilization charge, then headed home under arrangements in place. The ship remained in port under orders and consular support.
Kerr Scott state agriculture commissioner received word of the death of his sister-in-law Mrs W Scott of Bolton in Raleigh on March 4. She had been visiting her sister Mary Oldham when the news arrived.
