Councilman Passes New Pig Pen Law Amendment
High Point officials report Councilman Joe Worth pushed through a major change to the pig pen ordinance. The new rule prohibits keeping a pig pen within 300 feet of any house, expanding the previous restrictions of 100 feet in residential areas and 200 feet on Main Street. The measure, initially opposed by several council members over hardship concerns, passed after Worth's successful motion amid quiet debate. City officials noted no public objections to the amendment.
