Bigger Baby Boom Coming Says NEA Report

The NEA warns of a large wave of future students as postwar births swell. Census figures show births rising from 2.9 million in 1946 to 4.1 million in 1964 and potential 4.5 million in the current year, possibly 5.2 million by 1970. Education costs loom as births grow, with earlier starts and longer attendance noted. The report notes fertility trends and funding strains but does not project overall costs.
