Divine guidance credited to European invasion move by Morison
Rear Adm. Samuel Morison says the Allied 1944 45 invasion shows signs of divine guidance in his new volume on U S naval operations in World War II. He details Channel crossing near schedule despite foul weather and notes German E boats failed to patrol the night of 5 46 June. Morison contrasts Allied Rhine crossing in Operation Delaware with British American strategy to avoid trench warfare and argues delaying invasion would have prolonged the war.
