Duke Receives Near 500000 in Polio Research Grants
Duke University and the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis report $498 541 allotted to Duke since 1938 for polio research and professional education. An additional $114 063 in March of Dimes grants aided polio care and training at Lincoln Hospital since 1947. The new grant funds teaching films directed by Dr Joseph F E Markee to train polio care personnel.
