Motorist Bites Officer Nose in Chicago Arrest

In Chicago a motorist Wayne Titler 33 railroad brakeman bit off part of Officer Richard Blaa nose after a traffic stop for missing license plates. Titler was arrested charged with aggravated battery and four traffic tickets. Blaa was treated at Henrotin Hospital.

New Home Found for Queenie

Little blind eyeless Springer Spaniel Queenie has found a home with the William H. Swank family in Northville Township. Her new companions include Pat Swank, 14, three cats and a horse named Mr. Allen. The two acre hilltop lot is Queenie’s new playground. She was abandoned last Monday in a Detroit church with a note pleading for a home and children to play with.

North Vietnamese regulars ambushed a 173rd Airborne Brigade unit killing 76 American paratroopers and wounding 24. Enemy deaths estimated at 400 to 500. Airfield shelling wounded 40 Americans at Dau Tieng.
