Passing Of Hobo From Scene Lamented By Jerry Buck
In Richmond Virginia AP reporter Jerry Buck recalls hoboes of old and met Al Gamby a card carrying hobo now retired in Bradenton Florida. Al explains hobos bum tramps and hoboes differ and notes today’s trains suit hoboes less. He carries two cards and remembers riding since age 16 including a 1939 Milwaukee hobo convention. He retired with a home car and boat in Florida as he laments bland imitators on today’s roads.
