State Commander Hogue urges Legion posts across North Carolina
State Commander Cyrus D. Hogue of Wilmington spoke to Andrew Jackson post members at the legion hall on North Main street. He urged establishing a Legion post in every community and emphasized cooperation with Rotary and Kiwanis. He said the Legion could be one of the five strongest city groups and stressed large active ex service member membership in the state. He noted over 4 000 veterans are enrolled in North Carolina and urged more enlistment, insisting membership requires service in the war and is not fraternal. This was his first visit to Andrew Jackson post and only a small crowd attended but valued the address.
