A federal grand jury in Greensboro returned an indictment charging 20 people from High Point Greensboro Burlington Reidsville with illegal narcotics dealings. Sixteen were arrested during the roundup. four pleaded guilty and received two year terms. One suspect, John Brown alias Derby, is unaccounted for.

Worker Plunges 30 Feet From Plant Roof
Wallace Heilig, 22, of Route 4 High Point, fell about 30 feet from the roof at Welch Furniture Co on Mallory Street. Heilig, back at work after a three month layoff from a prior roof fall, reportedly blacked out before landing on a railroad spur rail. Early reports gave no final injury extent. The accident happened around 11 45 a m.

Building's Walls Put Up In One Day
A New York builder completed the aluminum exterior walls of a 22 story office building at 57th Street and Park Avenue in one day. Sixty one workers finished the task in nine percent hours, a process normally taking eight to ten weeks, according to Norman Tishman, president of the contracting firm. Spectators watched as two story high aluminum sheets were bolted to the frame.

Jamestown Sets 55 Cent Tax Rate in Tentative Budget
Jamestown Town Council tentatively approves a $43,210 expenditure budget using the 55 cent per $100 valuation tax rate. The plan, prepared by Town Manager C P Turner, estimates revenues of 16 435 from taxes and polls and 17 775 from water, with a projected year end surplus and a 90 percent tax collection assumption.
