Charles Allen known as Red Allen was convicted in Greensboro superior court of stealing a car used as a taxi near High Point. Judge B F Long handed down a four year sentence. Police and sheriff deputies pursued the suspect for miles until arrest.

Six negroes in a Ford sedan ended a joy ride near Greensboro road and Centennial avenue after speeding and losing control. Driver Enoch Black, who borrowed the car without permission, was jailed 90 days for driving while intoxicated. Nina Lee received 30 days for disorderly conduct. The vehicle damaged wheels and parts. the owner had it repaired and returned to Greensboro.
Indianapolis Ind June 71 The semi annual conference of bishops of the Methodist Episcopal church opened here today to discuss general plans of administration and select dates and places for future conferences. Twenty six bishops from across the United States and three from foreign countries attend the meeting, with sessions closed to the public.
