Anti Communist rebels say they seized up to 25 miles into Guatemala as border guards pulled back and ports Puerto Barrios and San Jose were claimed captured. Guatemala asked UN Security Council to convene amid charges of open aggression by Honduras and Nicaragua.

U S denounces Guatemalan charges as baseless

The United States called Guatemala's claim of aggression baseless and said uprisings are a revolt by Guatemalans against the government. It denied bombings or strafings near Guatemala City and cited reports of leaflets dropped by planes. French air power presses Vietminh along Hanoi Haiphong route

In Indochina, June reports say B26 bombers hit Western Red River Delta invasion routes destroying highways 13 and 41 while French planes and artillery target Vietminh near Hanoi. Sizable settlement reached by Barbara Sears Rockefeller
