Area traffic engineer W A Ward testified that a process advertised by Traffic and Street Sign Co. was included in plans for several highway department sign projects over the last four years. Two defective motors prompted fire department responses yesterday. At 701 Farriss Ave a washing machine motor failed with no flames or major damage. At 1104 Ward St The High Point Manufacturers plant saw a motor cause concern but fire was contained with negligible damage. A sun lamp at 707 Chestnut scorched the floor and produced smoke with no fire. At 1410 Cloverdale a stove incident burned bread but caused no fire.

J W Morgan on the North Carolina Travel Mission arranged a visit by a group of French furniture manufacturers and distributors to High Point.
