Many High Pointers Attend Convention

A large number of people have been leaving High Point during this month to attend various conventions in the state and other states, stated H. D. Saunders, local ticket agent for the Southern railway. Few citizens are leaving for resorts, as the tourist season does not begin until about July 15 and many of the seashore and mountain places have not opened yet. More people go pleasure hunting, the latter part of July and first of August than any other time, as indicated by the heavy passenger business of the railway companies. Tourists begin to drift homeward before the latter part of August, said the agent.
