Gunman Fires At Vehicles On U S 70
Buncombe County deputies seek a gunman who fired at several vehicles on U S 70 Tuesday morning. Two trucks were hit but no injuries reported. A van window for Randy H. 20 Year Sentence Given To Welcome Bank Robber
Greensboro AP report says James Black Jr. received a two year term for aiding an April 9 Welcome Branch bank robbery. Judge Hiram Ward also sentenced Melvin Glenn to up to 12 years after pleading guilty and testifying. Bruce Johnson, Appalachian State student, drew a maximum six year term for attempted extortion related to a Burlington bank plot. Biggs was acquitted.
