Col. Fred A. Olds Remembered by Raleigh
Forced by ill health to retire at 81 Col. Olds spent his final year in sadness. He died July 2 1935 at Dix Hill and at Oakwood burial no relatives were present due to a polio outbreak. The 1937 General Assembly funded a memorial and the Fred A Olds Transportation Gallery was created.
