Marjorie Mansfield Says Worry Solves Nothing

Marjorie Mansfield argues that worry is useless and wastes time as she contends it cannot fix future problems or erase past mistakes. Her remarks urge focus on actions over rumination.

Dear Miss Mansfield Advice Column Letter

A nearly 20 year old writes of unhappiness and family duties seeking guidance. She lists multiple pressures including a ill mother, unstable work options, and a wish to improve her life. The editor advises internal happiness, goal setting, and deliberate choices about work and surroundings.

Decide to be happy and make the most of your surroundings

Worry is wasteful and unhelpful. Focus on healthful, practical activities like reading sewing and outdoor exercise. Determine what happiness means to you and work toward it. A content home life benefits family and personal well being over pie in the sky dreams.

Happiness Finders Beyond Troubles Focus

A reminder that happiness depends on how we spend our time not on where we live. Seek interests beyond troubles and discover that joy can be closer than expected.
