Miss Linda Goins married Mr. Southards in a June 4 ceremony at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles McDowell in Archdale. Rev. J A Grout officiated the 6 30 p m nuptials with white gladioli and pompons decorating the scene.
Miss Mary Blakewood and M O Cox Jr announce their engagement. The bride elect attended Ragsdale High and Mitchell College and held roles in dramatics and yearbook. The groom elect is a Ragsdale graduate, UNC student majoring in chemistry, planning dentistry.
Miss Linda Gay Smith daughter of Mr and Mrs J Eugene Smith of 204 Ashland St and Ray Norman son of Mr and Mrs Norris J Norman of 1816 W Rotary Dr were united in marriage by Dr E W Price Jr at the bride’s parents home at 8 p m Friday. Organ music was provided and a flower arrangement featured white gladioli. The couple will reside at 206 Ashland St.
Miss Catharine Ann Ellington married William Richard Holt Jr in an evening ceremony at College Heights Baptist Church. Attendants wore blue satin gowns. couple shared vows before family with music by Rev. Coltrane and Miss Modlin. The bride is a High Point Central graduate employed in Greensboro. groom, a DeVry student, plans to study electronics in Chicago. They will reside in Archdale.
Doris Marie Gregson and Glenn Edward Miller wed at Liberty First Methodist Church with Rev. Don Payne officiating. The bride, a Greensboro College graduate and Emma Blair School teacher, wore silk organza with lace. The groom, son of Frank J. Miller, earned a NC State University B.S. in real engineering and will join DuPont in Kinston after the Bermuda trip. They will live at 711 W Highland Ave in Kinston.
