A Davidson County sheriff's spokesman said the investigation into the fatal beating of Clint Herman Wilson and the related assault on his brother James Spurgeon Wilson remains active with no major new developments. Both men were found May 26 near their pickup on Finch Farm Road. Clint died, James was in intensive care but released Monday.

Workers Get Assignments In Thomasville

North Carolina Board approves High Point College teaching program
The North Carolina State Board of Education approved High Point College for a five year period starting 1975-76. A five year review by visitors reported an average of about 100 students earning teaching certificates annually, with 40 percent of all graduates certified. The undergraduate plan covers early childhood through physical education and requires an eight week practice teaching internship. Volunteer Firefighters To Come Before Board
Guilford County commissioners will hear requests from volunteer fire departments at Thursday’s meeting. Climax Fire Dept budget plans ask for 2900 dollars based on a seven cent per 100 valuation tax rate. Units seek permission to sign loans with Farmers Home Administration and to use old ambulance chassis. Also on the agenda are two sewer projects including an Albert Pick Motel area extension near Interstate 40 and NC 68.

Bicycle Car Collision Injures 16 Year Old Near Hillcrest
A 16 year old bicycle rider was injured Tuesday around 5 15 p m on N Main Street near Hillcrest Place when struck by a car turning into a supermarket parking lot. The rider, Bobby Wayne Ritchie of Horneytown Road, was admitted to High Point Memorial Hospital in satisfactory condition. The driver was Nancy Allman Walker of Greenhill Drive. No charges were filed. A separate two car crash on W Green Drive near Langford Avenue at 12 p m involved Shirley Carol Key a passenger and Charlie Harris Jr driver. Key sustained minor injuries.
