Appearance Set for News Conference in New Bern

Dan Moore and Richardson Preyer traded special interest charges as they agreed to a joint news conference next Tuesday in New Bern. Boy Scout Drowns In River Near Savannah

North Carolina Boy Scout Larry Owensby of Arden, 11, drowned during a Savannah River kayak trip with Troop 26 of Skyland. Efforts to locate him used Army divers from Fort Gordon. dragging was hindered by submerged tree tops. Brooklyn Pair Leave Russia for Home After Years as Residents

Morris and Mollie Block, a Brooklyn couple living in Odessa since 1959, flew to Copenhagen on exit permits June 3 after a long wait to depart the Soviet Union. Broader Boarding House Exemption Defeated in Senate

WASHINGTON AP The Senate refused to broaden the boarding house exemption in the civil rights bill. The measure would have exempted owner operated establishments with no more than five rooms from public accommodation provisions. An amendment to raise the limit to 10 rooms was rejected 51 to 35. A separate “double jeopardy” amendment, allowing retrial for crimes under federal law and contempt of court, was approved 79 to 17 after modification.

Widow Marina Oswald to testify again before Warren Commission

Marina Oswald and her attorney William A. McKenzie boarded an elevator in Washington to appear before the Warren Commission.
