Canada Gives Relief On Southern Furniture
Southern furniture makers have won relief from a prior 40 percent dumping valuation on North Carolina and Virginia goods. New schedules set a flat 45 percent ad valorem tariff on all US imports, removing the regional discrimination after two years of complaints led by the Southern Furniture Manufacturers Association. Ottawa confirms the change, while Canadian buyers face lingering anti American sentiment amid Smoot Hawley tariffs.
