Wingless craft test to be tried by railroader Friday
Emporia Virginia will host the first test flight of Charles Pritchard’s wingless aircraft designed as a combined aircraft car. The 21 foot aluminum craft with fins, tricycle gear, a 90 horsepower engine and flight instruments could taxi on roads. Pritchard, a Virginian Rail Road foreman and licensed pilot, aims to commercialize the craft in southern Virginia if tests succeed. Government aviation officials will observe the test at Emporia airport with P R Steinman supervising.
