Word reached Baltimore of a fire today that destroyed the grandstand and stables at Bowie race track. No horses burned. Bowie officials were reportedly away at Connaught, Ontario, except Superintendent Richard Pending who remained in Baltimore. Hyattsville and other fire departments responded. Bowie telephone lines were burned out.

Baltimore raid injures federal officer Charles Rouse
