President Kennedy will hold informal talks with Prime Minister Harold Macmillan in Sussex on June 29 during his European tour. The White House said the pair would confer after Kennedy visits Ireland and before continuing to Italy, with NATO issues and a multinational nuclear force among topics.
Police interrogated seven Negro men as 16 to arrest many Negroes and whites after North Carolina's worst racial riot in Lexington last night. One man, Fred Link, 24, of Lexington, was killed, and photographer Art Richardson was shot and hospitalized. Police believe both gunshots came from a single weapon fired from behind a First Street duplex nearby.
FBI announced the arrests of Kenneth Heafner and George Myers, both from Williamsburg Virginia, in connection with the Bayboro North Carolina bank robbery that netted about 9800 dollars. Heafner remains jailed for speeding and facing a federal bank robbery charge. Myers is in Craven County jail on a 50000 dollar bond.
A national word flashed about a race riot in Lexington as the police department received constant calls from wire services and eastern papers seeking information. A patrolman joked that Birmingham newspapers asked what Lexington was doing there, illustrating widespread curiosity.

About 150 demonstrators formed a human chain at Dozier Elementary and another bus area, preventing 500 to 900 pupils from boarding 19 buses. The protest, led by the Committee for Parents of Transported Pupils, aimed to stop segregation in schools as summer recess nears.
