Atlantic City N J June 7 The American Medical Association opened its annual meeting with debate on personal medical care. President Charlies Gordon Heyd of New York warned that government involvement could steer medicine. He criticized hospitals with paid physicians seeking state support, risking loss of free, competitive medicine and political control over practice and schools.
In Greensboro on June 7, federal court will not hear conspiracy to violate federal revenue act charges against numerous High Point residents over whiskey tax payments. Only three days of court are planned this term, with High Point cases continued to the next term. Lonnie Lindsay is the sole defendant not released on bond, which is expected to be reduced.
