A Sudden Plan To Take Nina Hopkins Away
In a two part narrative, a jealous lover recovers a hopeful plan as Nina Hopkins, nearly 17, grapples with home life and independence. The narrator proposes moving to a seaside village with Randolph and Erica, hoping to stay near Nina and gradually reveal a deeper scheme while concealing it from others. The affair unfolds amid memories of Ruthie and Landry and quiet coastal days. A letter from Ruth and wartime book news follow in the next column.
