Burial at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs Pearl Henderson Johnson 84 Route 3 dies at daughter’s home in Greensboro. Four daughters three sons and other relatives survive. Funeral at Revis Sturdivant Chapel. Mary Alfred Newsom 85 Route 1 widowed of BR F Newsom dies at Liberty House Nursing Home in Thomasville. Funeral plans incomplete.

One Injured In Collision Of Car and Truck
Levan Parrish Kennedy of Rt 4 Thomasville was slightly injured Monday at 11:24 a.m. when her car and a cattle truck driven by Tommy William Welch of Rt 2 Sophia collided on N Main Street at Parkway Avenue. Welch was charged with following too closely. Paul D. Young, 4, a passenger in Von Deaton Young's car of Pershing Street, was slightly injured at 12:13 p.m. on Gordon Street at Monthew Avenue. Driver Helen Powell Henderson was involved. Elizabeth Greer Buys of Jamestown was injured at 1:25 p.m. on Green Drive at Hamilton Street. Houston Virgil Hansford of Mendenhall Road was charged with unsafe movement violation.

High Point Central High School hosts a summer session from June 12 to July 23 with hours 8 am to 1 pm, Monday through Friday. Registration is June 4 to 11, with Saturday sessions on June 12 and 21. July 3 to 5 are holidays. Courses include English, sciences, math, civics, history, geography, and business math. A counselor is available daily and principal or counselor approval is required.
