The transformation of Saul of Tarsus into Paul the Apostle marks a pivotal moment in Christian history. Saul, a fierce persecutor, experiences a divine encounter with the risen Jesus, regains sight through Ananias, and becomes devoted to spreading the Christian faith.
The account follows Saul’s transformation after witnessing a divine light near Damascus and his shift from persecutor to follower of Jesus Christ. Barnabas champions Paul, aiding acceptance by Jerusalem Christians, paving his later role as a key church leader and missionary.
Four local churches will be featured on the Television Pulpit program on WGHP TV during June. The half hour show airs at 8 30 a m each Sunday on Channel 8. Lebanon Methodist headlines June 4 Green Street Baptist appears June 11 High Point Friends Meeting on June 18 and First United Church of Christ on June 25.
Archdale locals attend the Mount Gilead Methodist Church homecoming service. The Rev. Austin Fry will speak at 11 a.m. A noon lunch follows, with afternoon singing by Mount View Quartet and The Joy Bells. The church lies six miles south of Archdale on Flint Hill Road Randolph County.
The Gethsemane Quartet of Greensboro will sing at Pine Grove Baptist Church Sunday at 7 30 p m according to Rev Franklin Fox pastor Pine Grove Baptist is off Highway 62 about three miles east of Archdale
The Theater Guild American Theatre Society reports season revenue of 5.9 million dollars from 117 813 subscribers across 17 cities with 226 percent playing weeks. Prior year revenue was 5.5 million from 115 661 members and 220 percent weeks, with five cities driving most gains.
Vacation Bible School for ages 3 through 15 runs Monday June 12 to Friday June 16 at Mount Zion Pilgrim Church. Sessions are 6 30 to 8 30 p m with theme Walking Jesus s Way. Central Alliance Church launches a family oriented Vacation Bible School starting Monday at 6 45 p m and running nightly to 8 45 p m The program welcomes all ages from nursery to adults and features teaching singing crafts and nightly treats under the theme Walking Jesus Way.
Springfield Friends Meeting announces an early worship service during the summer. Sunday school remains at 9:45 a.m. and a second worship gathering will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the meeting room.
Saint Mary's Episcopal Church announces summer service hours starting tomorrow. Rector Rev. William P. Price says holy communion remains at 8 a.m. Sundays, morning prayer or communion at 10 a.m., and evening prayer with healing prayers at 7 30 p.m. Tuesdays. Thursday communion also at 10 a.m.
Preparation night for N Main Street Baptist Church vacation Bible school is set for Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p m with a 6 p m picnic. The school runs 6:30 to 9 p m Thursday and Friday and Monday through Friday next week culminating in 7:30 p m commencement on Sunday June 18.
City of High Point adopts a preliminary assessment roll for water and sewer main work on Willard Avenue from Gordon Street to end. It sets cost totals, lists lots, and fixes a June 15 1967 hearing time in the City-County Building. The roll will be filed for inspection and publication occurs by June 3 1967.
The 26th annual homecoming of Shady Grove Methodist Church will be observed tomorrow. Judge L Roy Hughes of Thomasville will speak at the 11 am worship. A 12 30 picnic lunch follows in the fellowship hall. A brief business session and devotional are planned. Music will be by the church choir and Men's Chorus directed by Jerry Isley of Winston Salem. The afternoon service has no speaker.
Archdale First Baptist Church hosts a five day vacation Bible school from 9 a m to 12 noon for children ages 3 to 16 with nursery for under 3. Commencement is set for Sunday June 11 at 7 30 p m.

Rabbi Theodore Ross of Temple Sinai in Queens led a trip to Mount Sinai in the Holy Land. He had two granite slabs carved from the biblical mount where Moses received the Ten Commandments. The slabs were inscribed with universal moral laws and shipped back to the temple.
