Loan To Start Starch Plant In Florida Approved
The Reconstruction Finance Corporation approved a 7.5 million loan to U S Sugar Corp to finance a starch plant at Clewiston Florida. The plant near completion will begin operations in early July and will employ about 2 500 people annually on about 18 000 acres. It will produce starch from sweet potatoes grown in the Florida Everglades for wartime textiles and other products.
