New Careers Trainees To Get Model City Tasks
The Model Cities program in High Point will place nine New Careers workers in three county departments. Six will train in Social Services, two in Health, and one in Mental Health to serve the Model Cities area. The program uses federal funds and Guilford County Economic Opportunity Council leadership.

Two-Car Crash Leaves Injured. Four News Updates
Two people remained in intensive care after a two car collision at Westwood Drive and North Main Street around 10 45 Monday night. Delores Pruitt 17 of Winston Salem in poor condition and Northrop Robinson 25 of Oakview Road in fair condition. Charles Edge 18 and Janet Marshall 18 were treated and released. Edge driven east on Westwood struck Edge’s car on the left side. A second incident near noon on East Green Drive involved Carrie McLendon treated and released after being hit in a crosswalk by E M McDaniels. Multiple traffic charges followed other crashes on Rotary Drive Chestnut Street and Alfred Place.
