All Counties To Get Fair Share Of Nation's Meat
The OPA promised every county a fair share of the meat supply. Price Administrator Bowles announced a fair distribution plan directing commercial slaughterers to resume their preexisting distribution pattern from the first three months of Bowles stated the plan won’t match last year’s totals but moves toward fair and even distribution. Federally inspected meat will be the only meat shipped across state lines, with increases noted in animals going to federally inspected plants. The plan quotes the base period as the first quarter of last year and takes effect June 27.
