Railroad Preliminaries Open to Public in Historic Talks

The Associated Press reports New York June 2 publicly open discussions between railroad managers and conductors engineers firemen and trainmen as they seek to settle labor disputes. Meetings begin daily at 10 o'clock and could last two to three weeks with delegates unable to call a strike and plans to report back to locals if needed.

Funeral announced for R. J. Harrison in High Point

R. J. Harrison died last night at 419 Rankin street at age 69 years. He served in Company DD Fourth North Carolina battalion and was a long time veteran beloved by old soldiers. The funeral is set for Saturday at 2 pm from the Rankin street residence with Rev. Gilbert T. Rowe and J. M. Hillard in charge. interment at Oakwood Cemetery.

Well Known Glenola Citizen Dies at 76

Daniel Davis of Glen Ola Randolph County died yesterday afternoon at his home after four years of invalid status. A stroke of paralysis is attributed as the cause. The funeral was held at 2 PM at Marlboro. Davis was widely respected and beloved in his community.
