Pilgrim Holiness Church Origins and Expanding Buildings
The Pilgrim Holiness Church organized in 1903 from tent meetings led by Rev. T. C. Hodgin and Rev. R. C. Teague. Rev. O. L. Ruth served 32 years, credited with growing membership and facilities. The original 40 by 60 framework building was replaced by a brick veneer church in 1920 and a 1932 three story educational wing with 100 classrooms. A 1937 expansion added a 52 by 102 auditorium seating about 900, plus more rooms. The plant now includes the main auditorium, three assembly rooms, and 30 classrooms.
